Building-Level Services
Building-level services include both Early Intervention in reading (grades K-1) and English as a Second Language (ESL) Program.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
All new entrants whose Home Language Survey shows a language other than English spoken at home are screened, as per state requirements. The Language Assessment Battery (LAB) Test is administered to determine the qualification of ESL services. The initial identification is completed within ten school days of the student’s enrollment in the district. By coordinating with our support team, including our administrators, school psychologists, social workers, guidance counselors, reading specialists, speech and language therapists, and special education staff, students are carefully placed in an appropriate instructional setting for optimum academic success. Parents of ELL students are notified of their child’s placement into our freestanding ESL program. For more information on our ESL program please click here.
